The Smart Cities Mission was launched on June 25, 2015, with the key objective of promoting cities to provide core infrastructure, clean and sustainable environment and give a decent quality of life to their citizens through the application of 'smart solutions.
GNFC, in collaboration with Smart City Ahmedabad Development Limited (SCADL) and Vadodara Smart City Development Ltd (VSCDL), has successfully executed projects such as Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) and Automated Fare Collection System (AFCS), as well as established an Integrated Command & Control Centre (CCC) with advanced features in Vadodara City. These initiatives are currently in the operational and maintenance phase.
The primary goal of a smart city is to leverage information and communication technologies (ICT) to enhance operational efficiency, share information with the public, and elevate the quality of government services and citizen well-being.
